it has been pointed out to me that i may have insulted thomas with this
response. if that was the case, thomas i apologize, that wasn't my intention.
your contributions have been and continue to be very beneficial to gt
and the gt community.
however, gt is an open-source, open-format project. since there isn't
the equivalent of an acroread for .doc files many users may find it
troublesome to deal with that file format. i certainly do.
i suggest (but can be overruled by the community) that open standard
file formats be used for documentation. based solely on the past,
the preferences, in order are: ascii text, html, pdf, and postscript.
russ herrold said it rightly -- "..able to be imported into CVS,
and collaboratively authored."
