RE: [GT] DSS [fixed]
The original version documented the smooth-before-divide version, while
it implemented the divide-before-smooth version.
So I guess this is not much help, as it is not clear whether it wanted
to implement the former but did not get it right, or whether the
documentation got later added incorrectly...
