[system-traders] scan.pl under Windows XP Pro hangs at "date"?

Hello all Genius Traders:

 

When I run the following command using ActivePerl5.8.8 under Windows XP and the Perl debugger it hangs at "my @desc_systems = <>;":

 

C:\perl\GTWin\Scripts>perl -d scan.pl market_file.txt -start=01/01/2000 -end=04/10/2007 "S::Generic::CrossOverUp {I:Prices CLOSE} {I:EMA 14}"

 

Could someone please give me a clue as to what I'm doing wrong (other than trying to run this under Windows!)?
