Hello All
Just joined the list. Having investigated GT preliminarily, had some questions, kindly advise:
- Are people using GT to trade? Or is the application still in testing?
- What does GT need to connect to brokers? I use IB and I could not find anything which would open a socket to form a connection to TWS or IB FIX gateway? But I did find in GT pdf, IB brokerage calculation module. So what am I missing?
- I see postgreSQL available as datastore. But I was not able to find the routines for connecting to Yahoo, Google for getting free data, or in my case IB TWS/FIX Gateway for getting data and in case of power users, commercial providers like eSignal etc.? So, how is data to be pulled from data provider and stored in datastore and in turn served to multiple users on the LAN?
I would like to know status of GT in each of the above and what is yet implemented & what is yet to be implemented? Also, on the site I found written that GT is evolving and many times a new feature breaks old code that has to be fixed. I would like to know a little bit about the development plan guiding GT to avoid such issues.
Please contribute whatever you wish to for education of a newbie in this software.
